Flavia Ursa
Clinical Trial Leader
Flavia has earned an undergraduate degree in psychology and neuroscience from the University of St Andrews (UK), followed by a master’s degree in neuroscience from Lund University (Sweden).
Prior to joining MAPS Europe, Flavia worked in the CRO world in various roles. For the past 2 years she has been the global clinical lead of several Phase 2 oncology trials.
At MAPS Europe, Flavia is serving as the Clinical Trial Leader, managing the team working on the European trials of MDMA-assisted Psychotherapy for the treatment of PTSD.
Flavia’s interest in the psychedelic research field began during her master’s studies, having written her thesis on the topic of psychedelics and anxiety vulnerabilities. She firmly believes psychedelic-assisted therapy can be the novel approach that is needed in order to fill the current gaps in the field of mental health.
Flavia lives on a homestead in the south of Sweden, where together with her partner she is working on rewilding 10 hectares of cut forest, as well as establishing a thriving food forest and market garden. They share their home with 3 cats, 2 pigs, 8 sheep, an ever-increasing number of muscovy ducks, and chickens. They are passionate about climate and ecological justice, as well as providing examples of food security adaptations that will be so needed in view of the climate crisis.
